Another Amazing Evening!

Austen and Christina were married this past Saturday. These two are so adorable! Austen's father made a toast that they were looking forward to grandbabies. I must say, as much as they are in love, as beautiful as they are on the inside and out, I'm really looking forward to little bambino's too! Christina's mom and dad surprised them with a FAB fireworks show. It was the perfect end to a perfect day! It was truly an honor to be a witness to all the family love. And you know, I love LOVE! Congratulations you two and may God richly bless you!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone,
I wish you a very Happy and Fantastic Thanksgiving!!!! My Mother-N-Law is in town and we are enjoying a big juicy turkey together. I'm so thankful for our weather, it's been perfect! And I can smell all the delicious food cooking. I'm so thankful to Cheryl D for cooking us such a fine meal. I'm so blessed to have you in my life! And that's what it's all about - great friends and loving family. Seems to make all the other things in life less important.

Favorite images from Rimrock

These are my favorite images I shot at the Rocking Rimrock Workshop. I learned so much. JoePhoto and John M really pushed me to go beyond what I might normally do. They taught to me to see things differently. Loved it - best workshop I've ever attended. Thanks for looking, Jen!

Yolanda and Henri's Wedding

One Love!

That was the theme for Henri and Yolanda's wedding this past Saturday. This beautiful couple and their contagious smiles really made this day. They were married at Cathedral Church of St. Luke downtown and the reception was at the Wyndham Resort. The live band was amazing and really had the place on their feet. It was so refreshing to hear Island music with the steel drums. Love the steel drums! It was fun - as you can see from pictures. Thanks again Henri and Yolanda, I really enjoyed the day and was honored to be a part of it.

Baby Gap Casting Call

Ok, Baby Gap had a nation wide casting call. Several people told me I must enter Hannah, which I did, since I have a few hundred images of her. Well, on Wednesday I received a call that she was in the top 20 finalist (top 5 for her age group). Can you say how excited I was, until I was disqualified. Anyone who makes more than 5% of their income from photography was eliminated. :( I'm not sure the reason behind it, the two portaits of Hannah here are straight from the camera. Besides cropping, nothing else was done to them, so it's not like I have "brighten her eyes or made them more blue". Another besides, they are flying all the finalist to San Fran for a photo shoot, which means I couldn't influence the images anyway.
Oh well, it's good to know the "experts" think she's as cute as I do!

On a side note, here's a photography tip. What makes both of these images work is Northern, natural lighting. Turn off your flash and face your subject into Northern light, when you can. There's something truly magical about North light. These sames images would be so-so portraits if she was facing another direction.
